Iran needs to invest at least $145 billion, or about $14 billion annually, in its oil and gas industry over the next 10 years, the oil ministry's official Shana Web site reported Sunday.

The investments will be needed to ensure Iran's status as a key oil, gas and petrochemical producer, Hamdollah Mohammadnejad, Deputy Oil Minister for Domestic Construction and Engineering Affairs, said, Shana reported.
