Russian gas monopoly OAO Gazprom (GAZP.RS) Tuesday said it had received exploration and development rights to the El Assel field in Algeria.
Gazprom said it had reached an agreement with state-controlled Sonatrach and would take a 49% stake in the project, which is thought to contain around 30 million metric tons of oil.
