Ukraine's state-run gas company said Thursday it had paid all of its February gas bill to Moscow after Russia warned of once again cutting off supplies to the country.
"Naftogaz has paid 100% for the deliveries of Russian gas in February," said Naftogaz spokesman Ilya Savin.
He said that Naftogaz had Thursday handed over the final $50 million outstanding after paying $310 million this week to Russian energy giant OAO Gazprom (GAZP.RS).
Gazprom confirmed in a statement that "Naftogaz has entirely paid for gas deliveries in February."
