Energias de Portugal SA (EDP.LB), or EDP, expects to invest EUR666 million to build the Alvito and Fridao hydroelectric power plants in Portugal, Diario Economico says Friday.
In total, the company until 2016 plans to spend EUR2 billion for the construction of new hydroelectric dams, and repair work on existing ones, the newspaper says.
Company officials weren't available for comment early Friday.
EDP in July won a bid to build the Fridao and Alvito dams, and run them for 65 years.
