Iran and Iraq signed two memoranda of understanding on energy cooperation and joint development of shared fields, the oil ministry's official Shana news Web site reported late Wednesday.
The first MoU was signed Wednesday afternoon after three days of negotiations between a National Iranian Oil Co. official and an Iraqi advisor to the oil minister, Shana reported.
The two sides agreed to send representatives to both Iran and Iraq to determine a framework for the cooperation, according to Shana.
The second MoU focused on the joint management and development of oil and gas fields shared between the two countries, Shana added.
