Italy will need more than four nuclear
plants to be able to reach the government's target of 25% of its power
generated from atomic energy, Enel SpA (ENEL.MI) Chief Executive Fulvio Conti
said Tuesday.
Enel and Electricite de France SA (EDF.FR), the companies planning to construct
the four nuclear plants, are open to rival companies taking part in these
projects as long as the two companies have control, Conti said on the sidelines
of a conference in Rimini.
Enel is Italy's biggest utility by revenue.
