Kazakhstan produced 9,535 metric tons of uranium in the first nine months of this year, up 61% from the same period a year earlier, state nuclear fuel company Kazatomprom said Wednesday.
Kazatomprom has said uranium production in Kazakhstan is expected to rise to around 14,000 tons this year. Last year, the country produced 8,521 tons, up from 6,637 tons in 2007.
