Friday signed an agreement on co-operating in the development of civil nuclear
energy, the French prime minister's office said in a statement.
The accord will cover areas like electricity production, the desalinization of
sea water and the management of nuclear waste, the statement said.
French energy companies are looking to sell nuclear reactor technology abroad. Last
year, a group of French companies including Areva SA (CEI.FR), Electricite de
France SA (EDF.FR), GDF Suez SA (GSZ.FR) and Total SA (TOT) lost out to a Korean-led
consortium for a contract to build four nuclear reactors in the
