Portuguese renewable energy company EDP Renovaveis SA (EDPR.LB) said Wednesday its net profit will nearly double in the next three years due to increased electricity generation.

Wednesday its net profit will nearly double in the next three years due to
increased electricity generation.
EDP Renovaveis expects its net profit to grow more than 30% each year until
2012 while electricity production will increase more than 24% each year, the
company said in a presentation to the Portuguese market regulator.
EDP Renovaveis' parent company, Energias de Portugal SA (EDP.LB), said it would
pay its first dividend in 2011, from at least 20% of its net profit in the
period.
EDP Renovaveis is the world's third-largest producer of wind power.
