Following
the success of the previous Energy Dialogue conferences, held over the
last
three years, IENE’s
“4th South East Europe Energy Dialogue”
( Thessaloniki,
Hyatt Regency Hotel, 3-4 June 2010), which is being organized in
association with the World Energy
Council (
WEC), is attracting top-level
participation from
speakers, companies and international organizations.
This year’s
SE
Europe Energy Dialogue meeting is very topical in view of the
ongoing
global economic recession and the increasingly difficult situation
regarding
the security of energy supplies, especially by the petroleum and
gas-importing
countries, and the international concern for the development of viable
alternative solutions. The need for a comprehensive regional energy
strategy
for SE Europe is emerging as one of the Dialogue’s
main objectives, especially under the light of the Climate Change
challenge and
the respective EU strategy.
The basic
themes that will be discussed during the 4th Energy Dialogue Meeting
include the following:
- Regional Energy Security and Update on Major Energy Projects
- The
Business and Investment Climate in S.E. Europe
- The
Climate Change Agenda
- Towards
a Regional Natural Gas Market
- Integration
and Competition in the SE European Electricity Market
