Russia, the world's biggest oil producer, boosted output to a post-Soviet high of 10.13 million barrels a day of crude oil and gas condensate in June, up from 10.08 million in May, Interfax news agency reports Friday, citing statistics from the Energy Ministry.

The country produced 41.44 million metric tons of oil in June, firmly ahead of
Saudi Arabia , the world's No. 2 oil producer. In the first half of the year, Russia 's production totaled 249.43 million tons.

State-controlled OAO Rosneft (ROSN.RS) produced 2.26 million barrels a day on average in June, OAO Lukoil Holdings (LKOH.RS) 1.83 million barrels, TNK-BP Ltd. 1.45 million barrels, OAO Surgutneftegaz (SNGS.RS) 1.20 million barrels and OAO Gazprom Neft (SIBN.RS) 605,947 barrels.

Russia exported a total of 19.57 million tons in the month, the Energy Ministry said.

Gas giant OAO Gazprom (GAZP.RS) produced 33.47 billion cubic meters of natural gas in June, down from 39.68 billion in May, with a daily average of 1.12 billion cubic meters in June.

Russia 's overall gas production stood at 44.72 billion cubic meters in June.
