Spanish renewable energy company Iberdrola Renovables SA (IBR.MC) Friday
said it has won bids in a joint-venture with Brazilian energy company
Neoenergia to develop and run for a period of 20 years nine wind parks in
Brazil, the Spanish company said in a release.
The wind parks are slated to start operations in January 2013, and will have a
joint capacity to generate 258 megawatts of electricity.
Iberdrola Renovables estimates the value of electricity sales from the contract
at about EUR60 million a year. The company already operates a 49-MW wind park
in
Brazil
.

electricity clearinghouse Thursday auctioned projects for 50 wind farms that
will sell electricity at an average price of 134.23 Brazilian reals ($72.27)
per megawatt hour, 9.5% cheaper than at a similar auction last year.
Iberdrola Renovables is a unit of Spanish power utility Iberdrola SA (IBE.MC),
and the world's biggest wind-power generator.
Iberdrola
owns 39% in Neoenergia.
