Brazilian state-run energy giant Petroleo Brasileiro (PBR, PETR4.BR), or Petrobras, said Friday that its refinery in Japan was operating normally after an 8.9 magnitude temblor struck the country.

Petrobras operates the Nansei Sekiyu refinery in Okinawa .

"The refinery suffered no material damage," a Petrobras spokeswoman said. "Production is continuing. The refinery is operating normally."
