Energy stocks are mostly higher today, boosted by a gain in crude oil prices. But Exxon Mobil isn't participating.

Over the weekend, a broken pipeline in
Montana leaked as much as 1,000 barrels of oil into the Yellowstone River . The pipeline, which usually moves 40,000 barrels of oil a day, delivers its product to a refinery in Billings , Mont.

Exxon Mobil shares are little changed at about $82.

The S&P 500 energy sector is the strongest performer among the S&P 500's 10 sectors, with a gain of nearly 1%. Marathon Oil is up nearly 2%, Chevron is up about 1% and ConocoPhillips is up 0.6%. Among other energy stocks, Cabot Oil & Gas is up 1.7%, National Oilwell Varco is up 1.6% and Devon Energy is up 1.4%.
