Spain's Iberdrola SA (IBE.MC), Electricite de France SA (EDF.FR) and Germany's E.ON AG (EONGY) have expressed their interest in purchasing a 25.8% stake in Energias de Portugal SA (EDPFY) from the Portuguese government, reports Cinco Dias in its Thursday Internet edition, citing sector sources.

stake in Energias de Portugal SA (EDPFY) from the Portuguese government,

However, the Portuguese government seems more prone to sell it to
Brazil
's
Eletrobras (LIPR3.BR), which has already said it wants to buy a stake in EDP,
the paper adds, citing Brazilian press reports.
Portugal
's
government is selling its stake in EDP as part of the EUR78 billion bailout
package agreed in May with the European Union and the International Monetary
Fund.
