The bidding deadline for an 80 percent stake of Turkey's Başkent Doğalgaz, Ankara’s natural gas distribution company, was postponed to Jan. 27, 2012, according to a notification from the Privatization Administration in the Official Gazette reports Hurriyet.

The bidding deadline for an 80 percent stake of Turkey's Başkent Doğalgaz, Ankara’s natural gas distribution company, was postponed to Jan. 27, 2012, according to a notification from the Privatization Administration in the Official Gazette reports Hurriyet.

The administration announced the original Oct. 31 deadline in July. “The bidding deadline is changed to Jan. 27 at 6 p.m.,” the Turkish announcement said.

The deadlines for electricity grid tenders were also postponed this year due to companies’ inability to find financing for the projects. The uncertainty that marked the electricity grid privatization process raised concerns about the natural gas grid acquisitions.

Meanwhile, deadlines for bids on roads and bridges were also postponed yesterday by another statement from the administration.

The deadline for the final auction to sell 25-year operating rights for Turkey's Istanbul highways and the two Bosporus bridges was moved from Feb. 16, 2012, to Dec.15, 2012. The preliminary application deadline was also postponed from Nov. 18, 2011, to Jan.19, 2012 at 4 p.m., according to the statement.
