The share of
profits from sectors outside of oil and gas in Russia's economy is expected
to rise by more than a percentage point this year, Finance Minister Anton
Siluanov said Wednesday.
Revenues derived from non oil and gas sectors are expected to make up 10.6% of Russia's gross domestic
product this year, up from earlier estimates of 9.5%, Siluanov said in a speech
to the upper house of parliament.
Former finance minister Alexei Kudrin, who was ousted last month after a public
disagreement with President Dmitry Medvedev over budget spending, frequently
warned that oil revenues will experience a steady decline in coming years.
It was not clear from Siluanov's comments whether the increase was due to a
growth in the non-oil sector or decreased production.
