The Energy Charter Conference has appointed Ambassador Urban Rusnak from the Slovak Republic as the new Secretary General of the Energy Charter Secretariat. The decision was taken by the member states of the Energy Charter Conference at its 22nd Meeting in Sofia, Bulgaria,on 29 November 2011.
The Energy Charter Conference has appointed Ambassador Urban Rusnak from the Slovak Republic as the new Secretary General of the Energy Charter Secretariat. The decision was taken by the member states of the Energy Charter Conference at its 22nd Meeting in Sofia, Bulgaria,on 29 November 2011.
Ambassador Rusnak will assume his duties as Secretary General on 1 January 2012, taking over from the outgoing Secretary General, Ambassador Andre Mernier.Ambassador Rusnak is currently the Project Leader for External Energy Security of the Slovak Republic. He was Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Slovak Republic to Ukraine from 2005 to 2009. In addition to his mother tongue, Ambassador Rusnak speaks English, Russian, Turkish, Ukrainian, French and Hungarian.
