GDF Suez Plans To Increase Installed Capacity To 150GW By 2016

French power company GDF Suez SA (GSZ.FR) Friday said it targets an increase of its installed power generation capacity to 150 gigawatts by 2016, of which 90GW outside Europe and to increase its renewable installed capacity by 50% by 2015 compared with 2009, as part of its development strategy.
French power company GDF Suez SA (GSZ.FR) Friday said it targets an increase of its installed power generation capacity to 150 gigawatts by 2016, of which 90GW outside Europe and to increase its renewable installed capacity by 50% by 2015 compared with 2009, as part of its development strategy.

In a statement released ahead of its investor day, GDF Suez also said it seeks to produce around 65 million of barrels of oil equivalent by 2014-2015 and plans to double external liquefied natural gas sales to emerging markets by 2020, compared with sales of 34 terawatt-hours in 2010.

The group is also seeking to increase energy efficiency revenues by 40% by 2016-2017 compared with 2010 and to reach 2 million water smart meters by 2014, representing a 150% increase.

GDF Suez reiterated it has a strict investment criteria in four areas--strategy, finance, legal and environmental, and social and governance--aimed at generating value creation and said it seeks to offer an attractive shareholder remuneration while maintaining a solid financial structure and strong cash flow.
