Azerbaijan, Georgia, Ukraine, Poland and Lithuania have completed a feasibility study for a pipeline to carry Caspian oil to Gdansk in Poland.

Azerbaijan , Georgia , Ukraine , Poland and Lithuania have completed a feasibility study for a pipeline to carry Caspian oil to Gdansk in Poland .

Azerbaijan 's minister of industry and energy, Natig Aliyev, said on Azerbaijan 's Lider TV on Tuesday that the study was complete, Bloomberg  news agency reported.

The pipeline to Gdansk will be an extension of the pipeline from the Black Sea port of Odessa to Brody.

Natig Aliyev said that Azerbaijan was interested in the project as an alternative route for supplying its oil to Europe .

The parties have set up the Sarmatia consortium to work on the pipeline extension to Plock and Gdansk .

The existing Odessa-Brody pipeline is now pumping Azerbaijani crude to refineries in Ukraine and is also sending it through the pipeline network to Belarus .
