Bulgaria should sell its new Russian nuclear reactor, according to Ivan Kostov, co-chair of the right-wing Blue Coalition.
The reactor can be sold to one of the Russian nuclear power plants that are currently out of operation, Kostoc explained.
In an interview for TV7, the former PM (1997-2001) firmly opposed the construction of Bulgaria's potential second nuclear power plant in the Danube town of Belene, explaining that it would deepen the country's energy dependence from Russia.
Furthermore, he believes that Belene will be a potential threat, since would not comply with EU nuclear safety standards, Novinite.com reports.
