The Russian government is planning to double by 2015 the extraction tax the state-controlled natural gas company OAO Gazprom (GAZP.RS) is paying, a deputy finance minister said Wednesday.
The Russian government is planning to double by 2015 the extraction tax the state-controlled natural gas company OAO Gazprom (GAZP.RS) is paying, a deputy finance minister said Wednesday.

Deputy Finance Minister Sergei Shatalov told reporters as the government approved the tax policy for 2013-2015, that the natural resource extraction tax for gas will roughly align the tax for Gazprom and independent producers by the end of the period.

The tax for Gazprom will rise gradually to 1,062 rubles per 1,000 cubic meters from
July 1, 2015 , and the tax for independent producers to RUB1,049 per 1,000 cubic meters, he said. Currently Gazprom pays RUB509 per 1,000 cubic meters.
