The construction of a gas link between Bulgaria and Turkey with a capacity of 8.3 million cubic metres per day will start in 2013, a report of the European Network of Transmission System Operators for Gas (ENTSOG) indicated.
The second stage of the project is planned to begin in 2017 with capacity expected to reach 25 million cubic metres per day, a report published recently on ENTSOG's website showed.
The report, based on feedback provided by the gas transmission system operators (TSOs) from the Southern Corridor, aims to provide the market with an outlook of the future energy infrastructure investments in the region.
A new interconnection gas link between Bulgaria and Greece planned to be launched in 2013-2014 will have a capacity of 9.1 million to 15.2 million cubic metres per day.
The cross-border gas link between Bulgaria and Romania, with a maximum capacity of 1.5 billion cubic metres per year, is expected to become operational in 2012.
