Construction of the South Stream natural gas pipeline's offshore section will commence on schedule despite uncertainty about investments in the Greek part of the pipeline, RBC reports quoting Gazprom CEO Alexey Miller. According to him, the final decision on the timeline of the construction of the offshore part should be made before mid-November 2012.

According to him, the final decision on the timeline of the construction of the offshore part should be made before mid-November 2012.
Hopefully, Greece will come up with an investment decision on its pipeline section shortly, Miller added.
Gazprom expects to start gas exports to Europe via the offshore section of South Stream in Q1 2016. The system, which will link Russia with Central and Southern Europe bypassing transit countries, is expected to be commissioned in late 2015.
