China's electricity output in September totalled 394.5 billion kilowatt hours, the State Electricity Regulatory Commission said Friday.

This was up 2.2% compared with a year earlier, according to a Dow Jones calculation.

In the January-September period, electricity output totalled 3.64 trillion kWh, according to SERC. This was up 5.6% compared with the same period a year earlier, a calculation showed.
