Gasoline Sales at -6,2% in Turkey During the First Eight Months of 2012

Turkish gasoline sales in the first eight months of the year fell 6.2 percent to 1.2 million tons, while diesel sales increased 7.1 percent to 10.2 million tons, according to an August report on the oil sector by the Energy Market Regulatory Authority. In August, the average price of gasoline was 4.47 liras per liter and 3.85 liras for diesel.

Turkish gasoline sales in the first eight months of the year fell 6.2 percent to 1.2 million tons, while diesel sales increased 7.1 percent to 10.2 million tons, according to an August report on the oil sector by the Energy Market Regulatory Authority. Meanwhile, gasoline prices are reduced by up to 13 kurus effective from today due to changes in exchange rates and oil prices. Yavuz Erkut, general manager of TPRA_, said yesterday that removing differences in the special consumption tax imposed on gasoline and diesel would help reduce prices.
