Martifer Solar, part of Portuguese industrial group Martifer SGPS SA (ELI:MAR),
said on Thursday it had finished the construction of four solar systems with a
combined capacity of 4.5 MW in Greece.
Each of the photovoltaic (PV)
facilities, located in the regions of Preveza and Pirgos in western Greece, uses
polycrystalline modules and have a capacity of between 777 kWp and 2 MWp. They
were hooked to the power grid in the first quarter of this year.
Martifer
Solar delivered engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) services and
also put the plants on stream. Each of the four plants was built in less than a
month, Martifer Solar said, adding that it would take care of their operations
and maintenance (O&M).
Together, the solar installations will
generate about 6.65 GWh of power, enough for 5,000 people and to offset 5,850
tonnes of carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions a year.
Martifer Solar noted
that it had constructed 60 solar plants in Greece.
