Serbia's energy regulator, AERS, said on Tuesday it is reviewing a gas price
hike proposal from Srbijagas that could see household tariffs rise by 4.4% as of
September 1 while the average increase for all customers is estimated at
5.7%.
State-owned monopoly Srbijagas, picked through a government tender
to provide gas to public suppliers, has calculated a tariff for them as of
September 1 of 39.12 dinars ($0.46/0.34 euro) per cubic metre, 6.4% up from the
current tariff, AERS said in a statement.
AERS will make a final decision
on the gas price hike by the middle of August.
