Italy's energy giant Eni SpA (E) Thursday said it has agreed with Petroleos de Venezuela SA to create a mixed enterprise to exploit the Perla field's 170 million barrel condensate gas reserves.

Venezuela SA to create a mixed enterprise to exploit the Perla field's 170
million barrel condensate gas reserves.
The new enterprise will be 60% owned by PDVSA and 40% owned by Eni, the company
said in a statement.
It added that the agreement was reached during a visit by Eni's chief executive
Paolo Scaroni to
Venezuela
,
where he met Rafael Ramirez, Venezuelan minister of petroleum.
Eni said the two leaders discussed the progress and future activities of
development of projects related to the Perla super-giant field project, one of
the largest gas fields discovered in recent years, and the Junin-5 heavy oil
field project. The Perla is a giant offshore gas field in the
Gulf
of Venezuela
