25 years after the latest oil resource discovery, Albania seems to have found another source for the black oil.

The Dutch Company “Royal Shell” and the “Petromanas” announced the first results of the tests in the Shpiragu 2 well, and confirmed the presence of considerable oil reserves.

“According to the official announcement of both companies, they were able to extract 800-1300 barrels of oil each day during the test of the first three days. The announcement says that the pil is of good quality and it has a higher market price than the one that Albania is currently selling.

The company leaders were optimistic with the international media. Erik Verdok, the vice general director of Shell Europe, declared that the result is very encouraging and that within the next year the company will have a better result on the oil reserves in this area.

According to http://www.top-channel.tv, sources from the National Agency of Natural Resources confirmed the news and explained that the final result will be givin within the next months, and then production may start.

Same sources say that after starting production in this area, there will be other wells for exploiting the reserves maximally. Shpiragu 2 is owned by Shell and Petromanas with 75% and 25% of the shares. Both companies have spent around 60 million USD in this well, digging for at least 5553 meters before finding oil.
