Croatian oil and gas company INA [ZSE:INA-R-A] is expected to raise its gas
output by 30% by 2016, local media reported.
On Tuesday, INA signed 240
million kuna ($42.9 million/31.5 million euro) in deals with four local
consortia for works on the 360 million kuna Medjimurje gas field project
.
The works on the Medjimurje project, which includes the Vukanovac,
Vuckovec and Zebanec gas fields with commercially recoverable hydrocarbon
reserves estimated to around 1.0 billion cubic metres (cu m), should start in
February, news daily Vecernji List reported on Tuesday.
The first gas
from these fields is expected to start flowing next year, the daily
added.
The Croatian market absorbed a total of 2.97 billion cu m of
natural gas in 2012, down from 3.17 billion a year earlier.
