The debts of Bulgarian state-owned electricity company NEK added up to 2.35 billion levs ($1.63 billion/1.2 billion euro) at the end of October, the economy and energy ministry said.

The company owes 545 million levs to banking institutions while due payments to electricity producers total 805 million levs, the ministry said in response to an emailed SeeNews inquiry.
NEK has put together a plan to restructure and pay down its debts, the statement said.
