Moscow intends to start negotiations with Zagreb on purchasing Croatian refiner INA after the Winter Olympic Games being held in Sochi, Russia, portfolio.hu reports from Budapest. Meanwhile, Hungarian fuels group MOL, which owns a 49.1% stake in INA, is also pressing the Croatian government to continue their talks, Croatian daily Jutarnji list reported on Monday.
Russian investors may arrive in Zagreb already in late February to hold meetings with Croatian government officials and Prime Minister Zoran Milanovich, the paper cited a source close to the cabinet as saying. The source also added that Russian companies will certainly not compete with one another in the race for INA’s ownership.
The paper also learned that MOL has been pushing Zagreb for a few days now to hold the next round of talks as soon as possible. Croatian government sources confirmed, also revealing that preparations for the meeting have already commenced.
