Bulgaria has won just over BGN 4 billion surplus from its EU membership in the past 7 years, Standart daily reports based on data from the Ministry of Finance.

Between January 2007, when the country became a member of the European Union and the end of 2013, Bulgaria paid in a total of BGN 5,253 billion in the common budget and received a total of BGN 9.353 billion from the Community. So it turns out that the seven years of EU membership earned Bulgaria BGN 4,099 billion.
