The privatization of Turkey's Yeniköy and Kemerköy power plants in the Aegean province of Muğla has received offers from six companies, including two companies that are building and will operate Istanbul’s planned new airport.
According to a statement released by the Privatization Administration of Turkey, the tender, with its deadline for April 10, extended from Jan. 24 due to financial constraints, drew six bids.
Limak and Kalyon, members of the five-company joint venture that will build Istanbul’s third airport megaproject, are competing for the tender.
While Limak has presented its offer as a single bidder, Kalyon opted to take part in a joint venture with the Çelikler group.
IC İçtaş, Çeçen-owned construction mogul and airport operator that also has energy sector investments, Konya Şeker, a local sugar producer but also active in the food, agriculture-breeding and energy sectors, Ciner Group’s Park Holding and energy generator company Elsan have been announced as the other bidders.
