The European Parliament believes that the pipeline South Stream should not be built according to a resolution made by the representatives of several European parties, Bulgarian National Radio reported.
The European Parliament believes that the pipeline South Stream should not be built according to a resolution made by the representatives of several European parties, Bulgarian National Radio reported.
The document must be voted today and summarizes positions of debates about Russian pressure on neighboring countries and actions to destabilize the Eastern Ukraine. European deputies also required the termination of gas imports if necessary. 
Arguments were mainly related to Russia's support for separatists in Ukraine. Iliana Jotova, part of the Bulgarian Socialist Party believes that the countries of Eastern Europe will suffer much more than these sanctions. She recalled the gas crisis in 2009 when Bulgaria lost nearly 240 million euros and thinks that the affected countries would be those who wanted to ensure its energy security through this project, including Bulgaria and Greece.
