The first stage in converting the depleted Bordolano gas field in Italy's Po Valley into a storage facility is complete and the facility is on schedule to start operations next year, Italian system operator Snam today said.

The first stage in converting the depleted Bordolano gas field in Italy's Po Valley into a storage facility is complete and the facility is on schedule to start operations next year, Italian system operator Snam today said.

Snam aims to have 400mn m³ of an eventual 1.2bn m³ available for injections in summer 2015.

Stogit is Italy's largest storage operator, and already has an operating capacity in excess of 11.4bn m³ with 130mn m³/d of injection and 150mn m³/d of withdrawal capacity.
