The government of Bosnia’s Muslim-Croat Federation said on Wednesday it has
approved extending until the autumn of next year a memorandum of understanding
(MoU) that has been signed with a unit of Anglo-Dutch major Shell on exploration
of oil and gas reserves.
Prime minister Nermin Niksic and energy minister
Erdal Trhulj have been authorized to sign the respective documents with Shell
Exploration Company, extending the memorandum until November 3, 2015, the
government said in a statement.
The energy ministry has called another
tender for a consultant to advise it on the planned award of a concession for
oil and gas exploration after cancelling the previous one. Applications in a new
tender should be sent by September 8.
The Federation is one of the two
autonomous entities that make up Bosnia. The other one is the Serb
Republic.
