Turkey’s Privatisation
Administration invited on Tuesday interested companies and joint ventures to
submit offers for the privatization of three thermal power plants with combind
capacity of 1,565 megawatts (MW), all located in western Turkey.
The privatization process will be carried out in two tenders – one tender for
the 990 MW Soma B thermal power plant and another for the block sale of the 210
MW Orhaneli and the 365 MW Tuncbilek power plants along with the rights to
operate the relaed mines, the authority said in a statement.
Bids for the Orhaneli and Tuncbilek plants can be submitted by November 24
while offers for the Soma B plant will be accepted by December 1.
The privatization administration requires a 20 million Turkish lira ($8.0
million/7.0 million euro) security deposit for participating in the tender for
the Orhaneli and Tuncbilek plants and 30 million lira for bidding for the Soma
B plant.
