Turkey’s Privatization Administration said it has extended the deadline for
submission of bids for the privatization of three thermal power plants with
combined capacity of 1,565 megawatts (MW), all located in western
Turkey.
The deadline for placing offers for the 210 megawatt (MW)
Orhaneli and 365 MW Tuncbilek plants has been extended to December 8 from
November 24, while the deadline for the 990 MW Soma B plant has been extended to
December 19 from December 1, the administration announced in the Saturday issue
of Turkey’s official gazette.
The privatization process will be carried
out in two tenders – one tender for the Soma B thermal power plant and another
for the block sale of the Orhaneli and the Tuncbilek power plants along with the
rights to operate the related mines, the authority said upon announcing the
tender in September.
