German wind turbine manufacturer Nordex said on Wednesday it has received an
order to supply nine units of its N117/2400 wind turbines to Turkish independent
power producer Kale Enerji for a wind project in southeastern
Turkey.
Nordex will deliver the turbines in the summer of 2015. The
contract includes an option for delivery of a further turbine for the wind farm,
the company said in a statement. Kale Enerji and Nordex have also signed a
five-year premium service contract.
The Dilek Res wind farm of Kale
Enerji will have an installed capacity of 27.5 megawatts (MW). The facility is
under construction with completion expected in June 2015, according to
information on the website of Kale Enerji.
The N117/2400 turbine of
Nordex is designed to accommodate light wind speeds such as the mean wind speeds
of 6.8 m/s at the site of Dilek Res. The wind farm will generate 70 GWh of power
per year, achieving an above-average capacity factor of 37%, Nordex
said.
