German wind turbine manufacturer Nordex said on Monday it has received an order
to equip and install a 45 megawatt (MW) wind farm in Turkey from local
conglomerate Adali Holding.
The order entails the delivery, installation
and 10-year service of 15 units of Nordex’ N117/3000 Generation Delta turbines,
Nordex said in a statement.
Nordex will build the Kiyikoy wind farm on
the Black Sea coast in the northern Turkish province of Tekirdag in 2015. The
facility will be able to generate more than 170,000 MWh of electricity per year,
equivalent to a capacity factor of more than 43%, according to
Nordex.
The anchor cages, rotor blades and towers for the wind turbines
will be produced in Turkey. The locally manufactured content will enable the
customer to apply for a higher feed-in tariff.
Adali Holding is active in
construction, tourism, project development, real estate and energy. The company
operates hydropower and geothermal power stations and has licences for 150 MW of
wind farms. It aims to have 300 MW of installed wind and hydropower
capacity.
