Romanian nuclear power producerNuclearelectrica said the country's
energy regulator, ANRE, decided it would have to sell 2.25 terrawatt hours (TWh)
of electricity on the regulated market next year, or about 21.4% of the targeted
output.
ANREhas the set the regulated price at158.63 lei ($44/35.4
euro) permegawatt hour (MWh) for next year, Nuclearelectrica said in a
statement filed with the Bucharest Stock Exchange on Wednesday,adding thatthis
price does not include thetransmission tariff, in the amount of 10.32 lei
perMWh at present.
The company sold 3.74 TWh of electricity on the
regulated market this year,about 35% of its output,at aprice of 145.80 lei
per MWhin the first half of 2014 and of 154.07 lei/MWh in the second half of
2014, excluding thetransmission tariff.
Commenting on the news,
Raiffeisen Bank Romania said in a statement on Thursday it hadestimated
Nuclearelectrica would have to sell on the regulated market2.7 TWh of
electricity,or25% of annual production, at a price equal to the one applied
inthe second half of 2014. "[...]therefore we see the news as slightly
positive. Nuclearelectrica had already contracted 3.1 TWh for next year (28% of
annual production) until early December, at a net price of156.5
lei."
Blue chip Nuclearelectrica operatesRomania's sole nuclear power
plant Cernavoda, located insoutheastern Romania. The planthas two reactors
with an installed capacity of 700 megawatts each, which cover around one-fifth
of the country's electricity needs
