Albania's energy ministry said on Wednesday it has signed an agreement with Germany's Max Streicher to set up a consortium to build a power interconnection line between Albania and Italy.
The construction of the interconnector is estimated to cost over 200 million euro ($227.3 million), the energy ministry said in a statement posted on its website.
Max Streicher will be the leading partner in the consortium which, in cooperation with the Albanian government, will prepare the feasibility study for the project and, together with other investors, will make possible the financing of the power line.
