Nuclearelectrica, the operator of Romania's sole nuclear
power plant Cernavoda, said on Wednesday it will disconnect from the national
power grid one of its units for plannedmaintenance.
Unit 2 will be
disconnected at 2300 CET on May 8as part of a maintenance programme performed
once every two years for each unit, Nuclearelectrica said in a
statement.
The operator did not say when it plans to bring the unit back
online.
The Cernavoda plant operates two 700-megawatt units which cover
around one-fifth of Romania's electricity needs.
