The net profit of Romanian natural gas producer
Romgaz, fell 7.5% on the yearto 563 million lei ($141.4 million/126.3
million euro)in the first quarter of 2015on lower demand, especially from
fertilizer producers,the company said on Tuesday.
Earnings before
interest and taxes (EBIT) declined 7% to665.5 million lei through March, the
company said in its first-quarter financial report.
Total investments
rose 7.3% to nearly 216 million lei in the period under review, while
exploration investmentsjumped 68.8% on the year, Romgaz said.
Operating
revenues fell by an annual 5.6% to 1.29 billion lei and turnover dropped 5.8% to
1.37 billion lei.
Romgaz extracted 1.44 billion cu mof gas in the first
quarter, 1.9% down on the year, and delivered 1.7 billion cu m, 11% lower on the
year.
BluechipRomgaz's shares were trading down 0.96% at 35.95lei by
1105 CET on the Bucharest bourse.
