With SE Europe now
confronting a number of major economic and social challenges, energy security
and the need to diversify the region’s hydrocarbon dependent energy mix is at
the forefront of discussions among the countries but also at EU level.
The
annual IENE conference "Energy & Development 2015”, starting today, November 11, 2015, in Athens, presents an excellent opportunity to examine the region’s pressing energy
issues and more specifically the role of different energy resources both conventional
