Turkeys Daily Power Consumption Down 8.44% on Dec. 1

Turkey's daily electricity consumption decreased by 8.44% to 713,977 megawatt-hours on Sunday, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Monday.

Hourly power consumption peaked at local time 19.00 with 34,727 megawatt-hours, data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest daily point of 25,955 megawatt-hours at local time 05.00.

Electricity production totaled 709,625 megawatt-hours on Sunday, marking a 8.02% decrease compared to the previous day. The majority of the output came from imported coal totaling 200,592 megawatt-hours. Lignite plants and natural gas plants followed with 127,961 megawatt-hours and 119,973 megawatt-hours, respectively.

On Sunday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 6,757 megawatt-hours, while imports reached 11,109 megawatt-hours.
