Airbus said Wednesday it is reducing production by about a third as demand for aircraft and travel dropped due to the coronavirus pandemic. “We are adapting production to the new reality of the airlines. We are all going through an unprecedented situation and we want to do this together as much as possible”,

Airbus CEO Guillaume Faury said, adding that “it is not unlikely that aviation will look different after this COVID-19 crisis”.

Airbus usually produces more than 60 of its bestselling A320 every month, but said it would reduce that to 40. It will also cut A330 output to two a month and A350s to a rate of six.
