BRUSSELS (Dow Jones)--A natural gas pipeline explosion Thursday in Ukraine won't affect supplies to the European Union, a spokesman for the European Commission said Friday.
"It's a minor explosion that won't affect the transit of gas to the European Union," Martin Selmayr told a news conference in Brussels. Ukraine is a key transit country for Russian natural gas shipments to the E.U.
